Happy Birthday!

Hello!

For today's card, I used the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

This is a great sketch to use to make multiple cards and that's what I did- made a few masculine birthday cards and used up some ctmh retired backwoods paper scraps!
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Family Display Tray

Good Morning!

Today I'd like to share with you a display tray I created while at scrapping retreat last weekend.  This turned out completely different than originally intended.  When I arrived at the retreat, there was a piece of paper sitting at our creation station and we were to use it on a project.  I loved the colors and knew right away I was going to mix it with Claire from ctmh.  Not all products used on this are from ctmh- everything but the paper and orange and blue buttons and the little yellow ribbon on the top left.  And I know it looks like I cut our eyes out but I really didn't :)  When this hangs up, you can see it better.  I had to take the picture while it was laying down in order to avoid glare.

CTMH supplies used:
Display Tray
Brown and tan sparkle assortment
Bakers Twine Harvest assortment
Family Love Stampset
Hello Blooms stampset
Artiste Circut Cartridge
Feb Stamp of the Month
Past Constant Campaign stampset
Chocolate Ink

Thank you for stopping by! It means a lot to me!

Home Sweet Home- Home Decor

Hello!  I'm back to show you the home decor item I created for our new kitchen.  My inspiration for this project came from Brenda Rose and you can check out her beautiful creation Here.

I ordered the 6x6 canvas from CTMH awhile ago and was going to make something for my son's room but after I saw Brenda's creation with the Feb Stamp of the Month, I knew I needed to make something for our kitchen.  This is what I came up with:

I started off by mixing cocoa reinker with Create a Shade Pearl and painting the entire canvas.  I then pulled out the last of my scraps from the Avonlea paperpack.  The flowers were cut using the Artiste circut and the cardstock where Home Sweet Home is stamped was distressed a bit and then sprayed using the cocoa reinker and the spritzers that ctmh sells.  The ribbon is the side of the burlap ribbon, keeping it simple. Other ctmh products used are the natural buttons and the dark chocolate grosgrain ribbon.  All products used on this little guy are ctmh.

Thanks for stopping by and stop back tomorrow for another home decor item I created using the display tray ctmh sells.
Have a great day ~Kim

Kitchen Remodel

Hello scrappy friends!

I don't have anything scrappy to share but I do have some before and after pictures of our kitchen remodel :)

Here are the before pics:

This here was the 'problem' counter top.  We eliminated that chunk that stuck out and boy did it make a difference!  Chuck and I can both stand in the kitchen with the fridge door open now :)

This is the beast of the dishwasher we've been using.  It's a portable and our friend let us use it for about 3 years.  I'm so thankful we had it!!  Especially with 2 kids!  Even though not the prettiest, it really made our lives so much easier and I'm so thankful for that!  I'll never forget the day we got it....We couldn't afford a new dishwasher at the time only because we knew it would turn into so much more: countertops, sink, etc.  It all adds up.

Here are the after pics:

We added a top cupboard to the right.

To the left of these pictures is where the 'beast' was.  We added 3 cupboards to that spot- 2 on the bottom and 1 on top and of course added a counter top.  It's a lot more practical for us.  I didn't take a picture of it because that is where the tools, etc are sitting right now.

I love our new kitchen space and don't feel so crowded in it.  Next up is painting- I've picked a color called 'potato skin' - it's neutral brown.  We are painting the kitchen/dining room and living room this color.  After this project though I'm ready for a little break so painting probably won't start for a couple of weeks.

Tonight while the new dishwasher was running, I didn't have to turn up the TV 10 notches! lol  It's so quiet!

We budgeted $2,500 for this mini remodel and actually came out less than that....$2,100.

Stop back tomorrow to see a new kitchen decor item I created.  I was inspired by someone that has such beautiful work and that "awww's " me every time I see her creations!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great night~
Kim :)

Friends

Good Morning!

Playing along with Freshly Made Sketches today.  It's been a long time since I've played along with this one and thought the sketch was perfect to use up some scraps I have of ctmh's Clemetine's paper pack.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

I think I used up the last of this paper! It was one of my favorites!  I still have some canvas stickease left though- which is what I used on this card.  I also used the Artiste circut cartridge to cut the background shape.  The 'treasured friends' sentiment on the bottom is from the Chantilly paper pack- border.  Thought the saying matched perfect!

Thank you for stopping by!  I really appreciate it!

Maybe next time I blog I'll be able to show you before and after pictures of our kitchen!  We are in the process of a mini kitchen remodel.  New dishwasher installed (we had a portable before), garbage disposal, counter tops, cupboards, paint and a new sink.  I shouldn't call it a 'mini' remodel I guess lol But sometimes kitchen remodels can get extreme!  We didn't gut the kitchen but are making changes that are going to make our kitchen seem so much bigger!  We can hardly wait until this project is finished!  The counter tops have finally been delivered and that is really what has been holding up the project for the last few weeks.

Have a great day!

Happy birthday to You!

Good Morning!

Today I'm playing a long with a few challenges.  It's been a while since I've been able to enter in any challenges.  School is definitely keeping me busy along with my family so it was nice to be able to craft yesterday!

The other night I was blog surfing for about 5 minutes and came across fellow ctmh consultant's Kristine Porter's card using the Mojo Monday sketch and Later Sk8r.  Her card was awesome and she totally inspired me so I thought I'd try using the sketch too.  Here's the sketch for Mojo Monday:

I also came across a challenge for Bitten By the Bug 2 to use the color Amethyst and Cupcakes or Birthday Cakes.

Here is my creation:

One thing I love about ctmh is the ability to mix and match their papers!  I mixed Claire paper with Chantilly paper.  I love the color combo.  I was struggling at first with the colors to use but I like this combo together.  The Smokey Plum cardstock does not come with either of these paper packs so I added it.  The cupcake was cut using the Artiste circut cartridge and the circles were cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge.

Supplies used: (all ctmh unless noted)
Claire paper pack
Chantilly paper pack
Artiste Collection- birthday
Artiste and Art Philosophy Circut Cartridges
Birthday perfect fit
Washi Tape
Red, Pink, Purple Sparkle Assortment
(Cherry) Autumn Lane Assortment- Retired
Grey Wool Ink
Smokey Plum Ink
Smokey Plum Cardstock

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

You are my Sunshine

Good Morning!  There's a new sketch up at Stuck on U Sketches! We'd  love for you to play along.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

This has to be the longest winter ever!  It has been so cold here in MN!  Yesterday it was -7 but with the wind it felt more like -35!  It's supposed to be even colder today!  It was refreshing to open up Jillibean Soup- Lima Bean paper and embellishments.  Although the little 'just a note' sentiment is from Pebbles and so is the N39 brad. I love the summer theme to this paper!  Oh how I miss summer and the warm sunshine! lol

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!
