Blog Hoppin!

Hi friends!  I've been a little absent because of life happening all around me....family time, playdates, lunchdates, homework, laundry, etc....I'm really craving a little creative time and it's on my agenda for the weekend.  I will however be sharing a project tomorrow :)

I wanted to let you all know that Stuck on U Sketches is having a blog hop to celebrate their 100th sketch!  How cool is that!  There are a ton of creative ladies on this design team and I feel so blessed to be apart of it.  The blog hop starts tomorrow and runs until the 7th.  We would love it if you could stop by!  There will be prizes along the way :)

Hope to see you this next week!

Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO

Good Morning!

Last night I finished up a page that I've been working on and thought I'd share it this morning.  It's another cold day here in MN....I'm so looking forward to spring already lol  Anyways, here's my page:

Those are my little monkeys with their great  gramma glaus (goose).  It's such a blessing to see her with them.

Enjoy your Sunday and make it a great day :)

Dude...It's Your Birthday!

Hi there,

I was so happy to get into my scraproom tonight!  Just when you think your kids can't act any more wilder than monkeys the unexpected happens!  lol  Let's just say it's very cold out and we could use some outdoor time :)  Oh well, it's quite entertaining with those two!  My chloe is such a peanut (weighing a whole 21 lbs at 18 mths) but she can be rougher than her brother at times!  It's hilarious!

Tonight I'm playing along with Seize The Birthday.  This week it's a masculine card- same sketch as last week:

For this card I used the following ctmh supplies:

Dakota Paperpack
Rugged Dude stampset
Card Chatter- Birthday
Black ink
Pacifica ink

I love the Rugged Dude pocket!  And I think the sentiments are so appropriate for a male..."Dude, it's your birthday...."

Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!

Love U Lots

Good Morning!  Today I'm playing along with Dynamic Duos- Red and Black Valentines.  Check it out HERE!
Supplies Used:
Whooo's your valentine stampset (ctmh)
Sightseer stampset (ctmh)
Ruby ink and Cardstock
Black ink
The heart in the middle was a scrap I found on my scrapping table :)

I'm also entering this card over at Case This Sketch!

It's finally finished!

Hello!  No card today, but I do have a pretty awesome project to share~  I started this project while pregnant with chloe.  It's a project that meant so much to me but has went unfinished.  I'm not sure I'd have ANY time or PATIENCE to complete it.  Are you wondering what it is?  A QUILT!  I don't even sew buttons so don't ask me what I was thinking when I let my friends convince me to sign up for a 'beginner' pinwheel quilters class.  AND I should mention, "beginner" and "pinwheel" should not be in the same sentence nor should there be a class.  There is nothing 'beginner' level about it!!  I learned a lot about quilting and learned that I simply do not have the time or patience for it.  I admire you quilters out there!!  I started the quilt and managed to complete 14 blocks and then they sat, in a plastic bin starring at me- for 2 years!  So much hard work and love went into these blocks.  I knew I wanted to do something with them....

I work in an insurance agency and one of our insured is a very advent quilter.  My boss is going to have her sew a few smaller quilts for our break room wall.  That's when the light bulb went off!  I immediately thought HIRE HER!  She came to the office 2 weeks ago and picked up my bin of blocks.  I had patterns for a few more blocks that were not completed.  We discussed the colors I liked and layed out different designs.  We also discussed price....$50.  Are you kidding me!!  I feel like I got the sweetest deal ever!   I paid her today, but knowing this individual, I knew she wouldn't accept more so she'll be getting a little package from me as well.

Well, she dropped off the finished project today and I couldn't be happier.  I love it so much!  The backing is flannel with moose and deer on it. It's perfect for my family.  There are actually 4 squares across- 5 rows.  Here she is: (this was the best full view picture I could get)

While I didn't complete the project myself, I'm happy we can enjoy it and I can one day show my kids the blocks I completed.

I was able to get into my scraproom tonight to make a card and I was so happy!  I played with some new ctmh products that will be available Feb 1st!  I saw the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and knew the perfect paper and stampset to use.  Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

It seems as though I never have enough 'boy' cards on hand so this was perfect to add to my stash!  I love the gears!  They were cut with the Artiste cartridge.

Washi Tape
Perfect Fit- Birthday stampset
Green & Blue Epoxy Bubbles
Artiste Circut Cartridge

A new journey

Hi friends!

Today has been SUCH a much needed relaxing day!!  Church, a lonnnnng nap, a little scrapping, a little cleaning, etc.  Just the day I needed before I start another new journey tomorrow....

I'll just tell you there will probably be a little less of this:

And a little more Accounting and Microeconomics.  Blah.  Sounds fun doesn't it! Well, I have to be honest and tell you, I'm actually pretty excited about this.  I started my 4 year degree 12 years ago and quit after 3 years.  I was young, worked at a bank as a manager and was making good money.  What did I care about a degree?  Now, I want it.

I'm sure in a few weeks I'll be wondering what the heck was I thinking??

So, wish me luck!

Good Morning!

I don't have a card to share this morning- instead I'm sharing a display tray that I made for my sweet chloe bugg.  I ordered 2 before she was born and brought them along to a crop a few months ago.  Not sure what to do with the second one but here is the 1st one:

Her room is decorated in owls and I just happened to have a some owl scraps.  The display tray is from 7 gypsies (6x6).  I'm thinking some black and white pictures on the 2nd one....

Love You

Hello there,

I thought I'd try my take on the Freshly Made Sketches this morning.  My hubby is coming home from Texas tonight and this will be a perfect card to give him :)  He went hog hunting for the first time.  Although he didn't shoot one, he did shoot a deer.  (Before he left I told him he'd better not come home with any hog mounts on order!! hehe) Anyways, here's the sketch:

Here's my take:

There isn't any paper on this card- only stamps. I love how it turned out!

Inks: Hollyhock, Slate, Black
Stampsets: Affection, Noted Backgrounds, Pirouette Flair (one of my new favorites!)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!
:) Kim

Celebration!

Hi there!  I've been browsing the challenges this week and there are so many that I want to join in on....but I've been beat by the time I put the kids to bed!  I did however find one that I wanted to play a long with tonight- Seize the Birthday!  Check it out HERE!

Here is the sketch I used:

I rotated it and came up with this:

Sadly, this is the last of my Stella paper (ctmh)!  But I love the Flair stampset from ctmh!!  This was my first time using it!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

How many pennies did I move?

You will never believe this, but I had an awesome week with Weight Watchers and Shredding!  I was able to move.....

7 Pennies!!

I was pretty strick with myself on WW and with the shredding.  I've read on WW that this may happen the first few weeks so I don't count it on happening every week- I know that would not be healthy.

I felt pretty satisfied all week- drank a lot more water and ate a lighter breakfast and lunch.  By light I mean oatmeal and salads with fruit, veggies, yogurt, cheese, ham, egg, regular salad dressing.  This way I was able to eat a little more at dinner leaving me feeling very satisfied in the evening- this is when I tend to snack.

I'll continue to keep you updated on Mondays- Here's to a new week!

Let me crawl in a hole! Please!

Oh boy, I need to share with you the most embarrassing moment I have had in a very long time!  It occurred this afternoon while shopping in walmart.  While approaching the check out, we ran into my brother in law and nephew- I told my husband I was going to run and grab something and I'd be right back (pads). I grabbed them and returned to the checkout but my hubby and kids weren't there anymore.  I walked around and found them talking to my boss and his wife!  Yes, I had my pads in my hand!  Our cart was full and both of the kids were in the cart.  As approaching them, I could feel my face start on fire!  I quickly threw the pads in the cart and acted 'natural.'  Yeah, not real easy with a 4 year old that explained to them that 'his mom wears those!'  OMG, I wanted to crawl in a hole and die!!  We said our goodbyes and all my husband and I could do was laugh!

Kids....they certainly make life interesting and there's never a dull moment! While driving home, I told Chuck I felt like I wanted to crawl in a hole and die!  Beau immediately said, mama you can't dig a hole and die in there!  No way mama!  No way!  Again, all I could do was look at chuck and laugh!

Monday should be an interesting, yet awkward day at work!

Weightloss in a Jar

haha! If only it was that easy right?  If you've been following my blog recently, you know I'm focusing on losing weight and have started the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred (a painful process).  Well, I'm a visual person and I thought it would be more motivating for me if I had a little reward for every pound I lost.  Check out pinterest and you will find a lot of awesome ideas!  This is what I created-Thanks to Cassie for the inspiration!

Weightloss in a Jar

The jar to the left has 48 pennies in it (yes, pennies people.  I didn't think I should put chocolate chips in the jar...sounds good though!).  I've seen others use clear marbles, etc but I don't have time to run out to purchase those so pennies it is!  I started this journey with 46 lbs but last week bumped that up to 48 lbs!
My start date is on the back of the 'to go' tag.

I love how little the jars are- perfect to set on my kitchen window as a reminder (it will match the picture of the pig that my boy painted at preschool which hangs on my fridge hehe) .  We'll see if I'm able to move any of these little pennies next week.

Girlie Girl Cards- Live Fast/Celebrate

Hi there!  My kiddos are napping and I was able to play a little this afternoon.  (I made the first card last night) I found 2 new challenges and I thought I would play along.

The sketch I used is from Try Stampin on Tuesday!
The paper pack I used is a retired (for a few years now) ctmh pack- Notebook.  It was one of my favorites!  Rather than continuing to hoard it, it was time to use some of it up.  I cut the dress, etc with the Artiste Circut cartridge.  I love how it turned out!

I'm entering my next card into the new challenge blog Inkspirational!  This one is a color combo:

Fun colors!

The sketch I used is from Freshly Made Sketches.
And here is my card:
A while ago, I accidently bought 2 inch Glue Dots! I decided to open them up and play around with some left over rosette ribbon I had.  This was the result and I love it!
Thanks for checking out my creations!

SOUS Challenge

Hi there!  There's a new challenge up at STUCK ON U SKETCHESIt's a fun one!  We'd love to see you join in on our fun!

I just can't get enough of ctmh's Clementine paper.  The stampset used is in the current idea book and is called Many Thanks.  The ribbon is unknown- purchased at a craft show in a jar.

Hope to see you over at SOUS!  Have a great day!

Feeling Challenged

Happy New Year!

Hope you all are enjoying the start to the new year!  We met up with good friends of ours at a water park last night- the kids had a blast! We got home and I was feeling a little challenged so I made a few cards.  The first one is from Retro Sketches.

The paper pack used on this card is Clementine and the stampset used is State of Mind (ctmh retired).  I love this combo and am pleased with the clean and simple look to the card.

The next card was a little more challenging for me.  I think it was the color combo- although I LOVE these colors together, I just could not figure out how I wanted to lay it it all out. The patterned paper is from my 6x6 minds eye Christmas collection, stampset is Just for You (ctmh), ribbon is retired from Stampin Up!

I entered this card into a few challenges:

Thanks for checking out my creations and have a great night!
