Happy Birthday, Dude!

Hello friends and Happy Easter!  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!  We went to my parents on Friday night and came home late last night.  We attended our Easter Service this morning and decided last minute while leaving church to go to brunch.  We arrived at the restaurant, didn't wait, had excellent service and only paid $20 for the 4 of us (kids ate for free).  That's small town living for you!

Here are a few pictures:

I do have a card to share too :)  While checking out blogs, seize the birthday had their reminder up for still having time to play so I thought I'd create a quick boy birthday card. Play along on the link above!
Here's the sketch:
And here's my take:
I sure love that Perfect Fit- Birthday stamp set combined with the Rugged Dude stamp set.  The paper is from my scrap bin.
Thanks for stopping by on Easter Sunday and have a great night!

Friends

Hello Hello!

Happy Sunday!  I've been studying my butt off to get ahead in my classes and I'm a few weeks ahead now.  My goal is to have tons of time to study for the final exams.  Econ has been a challenge for me, which is good, so I want to make sure I'm prepared for the exam.

In the meantime, I wanted to have some stamping fun this afternoon so I'm playing with a few challenges.  You'll have to excuse the photo, for some reason I couldn't download from my camera card.

Here is the sketch and color combo I'm playing along with:

For this card I used a scrap from ctmh's Chantilly paperpack and the stampset Fabulous You, which has quickly become a favorite of mine!

Until next time! Kim

One in a Million

Hi friends!

I want to welcome the new followers!  Looks like a few of you are new and I'm so happy you're following my blog!  Thank you!

This past weekend I had a chance to scrap with some fellow ctmh sisters and it was so fun!  They created such beautiful projects, cards and layouts. It's so inspiring to see what your fellow sisters create with the same products you have ! If you get a chance, visit their blogs:

Tammie Chelberg- I love to Craft!
Marg- I didn't have Potatoes
Brenda Rose- Rose Blossoms Legacies

Today was an awesome family day!  The day started with french toast, followed by lunch at taco johns (picked by the kids), a trip to the library AND the bookstore!  We ended the night baking cookies and once the kids were in bed I got some me time in my scrappin room!  Yay! There were a few challenges I wanted to play along with so I created a card.  The challenges I'm playing along with are Dynamic Duos and Seize the Birthday.  Here is the sketch and the color combo used:

 Here is my creation:

I was so excited to use a new stampset, For a Friend (ctmh)!  And the trinket wooden shapes and burlap just add so much to this card!  Buzz and Bumble has become on of my new favorite paper packs too!

Have a great night and thank you for visiting!!

Within Us

Good Morning!

There's a new card sketch challenge up at SOUS.  Check it out HERE!

Here is the sketch:

Isn't is a fun one!?  I was excited to get out my "For Always" paperpack (ctmh) for this one:

The flowers are from pebbles but the bright colors are great with the black and white.  The saying has always been a favorite:

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us."  This is from the Scrapbook Statements Poets Stampset. (ctmh)

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day:)

Sweet as Honey- Cardabilities

Hello there!

I'm having a great time at a scrapping retreat this weekend!  Cardabilities has a card sketch this week and fellow ctmh consultant Lynn is on the DT so I thought I'd play along.

Check out the sketch: So many possibilities!

And here's my card:

This is ctmh's Buzz and Bumble paperpack and it's so beautiful!  I couldn't resist using the Honeycomb Flair stampset either- it's one of my favorites :)

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!\

You Make Me Smile- RB Challenge #1

Hi there!

Tonight I'm sharing a card for a Rose Blossom Challenge.  Our creative leader, Brenda Rose, challenged the ctmh Rose Blossom team to a color combo challenge.  The challenge was to make a project using 4 colors (and these 4 colors only): honey, gypsy, white daisy and pear.  These colors had me thinking spring right away!  While these colors are lovely together, I felt very challenged.  Maybe it's because I didn't use any paper other than cardstock?

Here is my card:

I started off by dry embossing the gypsy card stock and sanding it to give it a distressed look.  I then cut the flowers out using the Art Philosophy circut cartridge and used one of my favorite stampsets, Hooray Boutique .  The sentiment says, "You Make me Smile."  And the thought of spring certainly makes me smile :)  The card was finished off with an opaque pearl flourish and a purple sparkle- both of which are ctmh .  I sure had fun making this card and feeling challenged.

I thought I'd share a couple of cute pictures from our day today too :)  We watch a lot of cake boss on netflix and my boy asked if we could bake a cake after church and wear his pirate shirt.  Of course we were all over that!

The best part of baking!

The finished cake- he was so proud :)

Chloe was a ham while eating the cake :)

Have a great week and thank you for stopping by!  :) Kim
